Hello, People Builders! 👋
Just as the summer season brings change, so does our community!
You might know me as the familiar face (and DJ) from our People Builders events, the designer of our vibrant Miro boards, or the person taking up the chat on Zoom—yes, it's me, Miriam Mourad, Community Coordinator at Oyster, stepping up to the mic this month!
Now don't adjust your screens, you're reading it right. Our fantastic Marie is off for an excellent maternity leave. Let's all take a moment to send her our warmest wishes for this exciting new life chapter!

We hosted two remarkable events in last month's enriching journey toward cultivating an inclusive and equitable workspace.
Our first discussion with Jeffrey Ims, Senior Director of DIB at Upwork ignited a thought-provoking exploration of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategies. A key takeaway? Diversity means different things to different people.
The conversation continued in a brainstorming co-creation session with Diversity and Inclusion Consultant Danielle Little from Peoplism during which we tackled the tricky question: How do we gather meaningful DEIB data from a workforce spread across the globe? It's a big challenge, but one we're passionate about cracking. We've learned that it's all about asking the right questions in the right places.

We've been brainstorming our community vision, identifying what needs to start, stop, continue, and forging actionable plans to make People Builders community goals (and dreams) a reality.
